General developments in terms of FTEs and numbers

As at 31 December 2012, The Hague University of Applied Sciences had 1,932 staff members who were engaged on the basis of an employment contract and who constituted 1,531.29 full-time equivalents (FTEs). Relative to 2011, this is an increase of 63 staff members (3.4%) and 69.49 FTEs (4.8%). The number of staff members has increased in parallel to the growing number of students.
The ratio between teaching and supporting staff remained the same in comparison with 2011: 65 per cent teaching staff and 35 per cent supporting staff. Expressed in FTEs, the ratio at the end of 2012 was 64 per cent teaching staff and 36 per cent supporting staff. These percentages were the same in 2011.
The ratio between men and women in the total staff complement remained virtually the same relative to 2011: 48 per cent male and 52 per cent female. The same applied to the FTEs: at the end of 2012, the figure stood at 50 per cent male and 50 per cent female.
